The Grand Tour Presenter, Richard Hammond, was in a Violent Car Crash in Switzerland

The Grand Tour is one of the best automotive programs available at the time. The shows presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond used to be on the hit show Top Gear before an unfortunate series of events forced them to branch off and create their own show. And for those of you that are familiar with these three gentlemen, you’d assume it was Clarkson that would be the one involved in a plethora of accidents throughout his career. And for the most part, he is, but it’s Richard Hammond that takes the cake on the most brutal and dangerous crashes.

A few years back, while shooting a segment of Top Gear, Hammond suffered a massive wreck in a dragster at 288mph. Luckily, by some miracle, Hammond survived and was able to make a full recovery. And now reports are coming out that while shooting the second season of the Grand Tour, “Hamster” was involved in another brutal accident. This time he was behind the wheel of the Electric Hypercar known as the Rimac Concept One. The exact cause of the accident hasn’t been released yet, but according to the short video clip taken by an onlooker, it appears as if Hammond was coming into a corner too hot and skidded off the side of the road. He managed to pull himself out of the car before the Rimac burst into flames and burnt to a crisp. Luckily he was ok and suffered just a few minor injuries. I’m sure more information will be trickling out over the next couple weeks, but if nothing else we will find out what happened when the show is back on the air in October.
