Jay Leno Goes For a Ride in Modern Remake of the Iconic Bandit Trans-Am
If you even remotely consider yourself a gearhead or moto enthusiast you’ll immediately recognize this car as the Bandit Trans-Am from the hit film, Smokey, and the Bandit. However, you’ll also notice that it’s got a few things different about it. Most importantly is that fact that it’s brand new! That’s because it’s an all new modern take on the Bandit Trans-Am built by a company called Trans-Am Depot. They made a total of 77 of these special edition muscle cars and they aren’t just show cars, they are a real deal muscle car.
They started life as a Chevy Camaro and then have been modified to resemble the old school Trans-Am. Underneath the giant firebird logo sits a 6.2L V8 that’s good for at least 700hp, although there have been reports of as much as 880hp coming from one of these monsters. Each of the 77 models will come with Burt Reynolds handwritten signature as well as many other custom inserts that will only be found on these specific models. This particular model belongs to comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias and he takes fellow comedian and car lover, Jay Leno out for a spin.
