The New Dodge Demon a 840hp Production Drag Car

Over the past few months, there has been a relentless teaser campaign for the new Dodge Challenger Demon. And finally the day has come where the teasers end and we start getting real facts about the car. The Demon made its debut at the New York Auto show this week and it did not disappoint. Dodge said they would raise the performance standard for production cars, and as far as straight line acceleration, that;s exactly what they did.

Based on the Hellcat that took the world by storm with its 707hp engine just a couple years ago, the Demon is a brand new animal. Not only did they raise the horsepower to a staggering 840hp, but it also has a whole list of upgrades that help it to achieve one goal. Dodge wanted to have the fastest production car in the world which is an extremely bold claim. The thing is, as far as drag times go, they did it! The Demon can sprint from 0-60mph in just 2.3 seconds, 0-100mph in just 5.1 seconds, and will blast off a quarter mile in just 9.65 seconds. That is faster than any other production car on the planet, and that includes the best supercars on the market.
